This privacy policy applies to:
- The eyeSpeed for iOS mobile application
- The eyeSpeed.app website
We’re car people who built a speedometer app that actually respects your privacy. This policy explains our data practices — because transparency isn’t just good practice, it’s the right thing to do.

eyeHear, LLC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Updates will be noted in the release notes of any updates, and a current version is always available at privacy.eyeHear.app. eyeHear, LLC is the developer of eyeSpeed.
Our Privacy Promises
eyeHear respects your privacy. Our Privacy Policy makes a few, simple promises:
- eyeHear, LLC does not collect any personal data. eyeSpeed is designed to operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal information from the app.
- We do not sell or share personal information. eyeHear, LLC does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or any other applicable law.
- Your location and speed stay on your device. eyeSpeed does not collect any speed measurements or location recordings. All location processing happens on-device and is never transmitted anywhere.
- Complete transparency. Our data practices are documented clearly and thoroughly in this privacy policy.
- Third-party accountability. Any services operated by entities other than eyeHear, LLC that interact with eyeSpeed are documented and explained here.
- Official “Data Not Collected” App Store label. We have earned this designation in the Apple App Store because eyeSpeed does not collect any data from users.
Information We Collect
eyeHear, LLC does not collect any personal information from eyeSpeed users. The app operates entirely on your device. There is no backend server, no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no telemetry.
The following sections describe data that exists in the context of using eyeSpeed, but none of it is collected, stored, or transmitted by eyeHear.
Apple App Analytics
Apple independently collects aggregated, anonymized diagnostic data (such as crash reports and performance metrics) as part of its App Store infrastructure. eyeHear, LLC does not collect, control, or process this data. The developer has read-only access to aggregated, anonymized reports in App Store Connect.
You control whether Apple collects this data through your iOS device settings. Learn more:

Location Data
eyeSpeed requires access to your device’s GPS location to calculate and display your current speed. All location processing happens entirely on your device. eyeHear never receives, stores, or transmits your location data. No location history is recorded.
Support Inquiries
If you contact us for support at support@eyespeed.app, we receive the information you voluntarily provide in your email (typically your name, email address, and message content). This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and provide technical assistance. Support correspondence is deleted 1 year after case closure.
Website Support Form
If you submit a question through the support form on eyespeed.app (at eyespeed.app/support), we collect the email address and message you provide. This information is stored in Cloudflare D1; submissions are sent to us via email; and replies are sent via our Google Workspace (Gmail) when we use the “Reply in Gmail” link in our dashboard.
Third-Party Services
eyeHear, LLC operates on a foundation of technologies provided by other organizations. All third-party services are documented here.
eyeSpeed for iOS App

Apple App Analytics: Apple independently collects aggregated diagnostic data as part of the App Store. You can manage this through your iOS device settings. See Apple’s App Analytics page and Apple’s privacy controls.

Location Services: eyeSpeed requires Location Services permission to operate. All location data is processed on your device and never transmitted to eyeHear or any third party. See How to Manage Your Privacy Settings below for instructions on managing this permission.

Live Activities: eyeSpeed uses Live Activities to display your speed on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Live Activities may use background location updates to provide real-time speed readings, but all location data remains on your device and is never transmitted to eyeHear or any third parties.

Cloudflare Pages: eyeSpeed.app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process operational data (like IP addresses in server logs) as part of providing hosting services. Support Form: The website support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile (spam prevention) and Cloudflare D1 (storage). Replies are sent via Google Workspace (Gmail) when we use the “Reply in Gmail” link. See Cloudflare Turnstile and Google Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Because eyeHear, LLC does not collect personal data from the eyeSpeed app, there is minimal data to retain:
- App usage data (location, speed): Never collected or stored by eyeHear. Processed on-device only.
- Apple Analytics: Managed by Apple per their retention policies. eyeHear does not store this data.
- Support correspondence: Deleted 1 year after case closure.
- Support form submissions: Stored in Cloudflare D1; retained 1 year after case closure, consistent with support correspondence.
- Website hosting logs: Managed by Cloudflare per their retention policies.
We do not retain data longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.
Security Measures
Our primary security measure is data minimization — we simply do not collect personal data from the app. For the limited data we do handle:
- Support correspondence is stored securely with industry-standard encryption
- We use commercially acceptable means to protect personal information
- Access to any personal data (e.g., support emails) is strictly limited to authorized personnel
No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, but we strive to use the best available practices to protect your information.
Your Privacy Rights
You have rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to access: You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you
- Right to deletion: You can request that we delete your personal information
- Right to correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate information
How to exercise your rights: Contact us at privacy@eyespeed.app with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
Important note: Since eyeSpeed does not collect personal data from the app, there is typically no app-related data to provide. If you have contacted us for support, we can provide or delete the support correspondence associated with your email address.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information.

Your California Rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: Direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Exercise your privacy rights without receiving discriminatory treatment
Do Not Sell or Share
eyeHear, LLC does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
How to Exercise Your California Rights
Submit your request by contacting us at privacy@eyespeed.app. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Virginia Privacy Rights (VCDPA)
eyeHear, LLC is a Virginia limited liability company. If you are a Virginia resident, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal data.
Your Virginia Rights
As a Virginia resident, you have the right to:
- Right to Confirm: Confirm whether eyeHear is processing your personal data
- Right to Access: Access your personal data
- Right to Correct: Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
- Right to Delete: Delete your personal data
- Right to Data Portability: Obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable, readily usable format
- Right to Opt Out: Opt out of the processing of your personal data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects
eyeHear, LLC does not engage in targeted advertising, does not sell personal data, and does not profile consumers. Because eyeSpeed does not collect personal data from the app, most of these rights result in a confirmation that no data exists.
How to Exercise Your Virginia Rights
Submit your request by contacting us at privacy@eyespeed.app. We will respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you have the right to appeal. To appeal, contact us at privacy@eyespeed.app with the subject line “VCDPA Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may file a complaint with the Virginia Attorney General at https://www.oag.state.va.us/consumer-protection/index.php/file-a-complaint.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. eyeHear, LLC does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. Because eyeSpeed does not collect personal data from any user, the risk of inadvertent collection from children is effectively zero.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information (e.g., through a support email), please contact us at privacy@eyespeed.app. We will delete such information within 72 hours of verification.
We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
International Availability
eyeHear, LLC is located in Chesterfield, Virginia, USA. eyeSpeed is available for purchase in approximately 140 Apple App Store storefronts worldwide.
eyeSpeed is not available for purchase in the following regions: the European Union (27 member states), the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, India, Mainland China, and Russia. eyeHear, LLC does not target, market to, or process personal data of individuals in these regions. This privacy policy does not constitute compliance with the GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, LGPD, DPDP Act, or other regional data protection laws applicable in those jurisdictions.
Since eyeSpeed does not collect personal data and most processing happens on your device, international transfer risks are minimal for the storefronts where the app is available.
How to Manage Your Privacy Settings
Location Services
You can revoke or change eyeSpeed’s location permission at any time:
- Via Privacy settings: Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > eyeSpeed > select “Never” to disable
- Via app settings: Open Settings > scroll to eyeSpeed > Location > select “Never”
Revoking location permission disables the speedometer functionality but does not affect any other device functionality or data. There is no penalty for revoking location access.
Apple Analytics
You can control whether Apple collects diagnostic and usage data:
- Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
- Toggle off “Share iPhone Analytics” to disable
This controls Apple’s data collection across all apps, not just eyeSpeed.
Policy Updates
This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. For significant changes, we may also notify you through the app or other means.

Data Access and Legal Requests
Support Access
If at any point we require access to your data for troubleshooting a support case, we will ask for your explicit consent before proceeding.
When Required By Law
eyeHear is located in Chesterfield, Virginia, USA.
- eyeHear’s policy is to not respond to government requests for user data or preservation of user data unless eyeHear is compelled by legal process. eyeHear will provide information when law enforcement has the appropriate warrant, subpoena, or court order requiring eyeHear to share data.
- eyeHear will only respond to requests from government authorities other than the US government if compelled by the US government under authorization of a mutual legal assistance treaty or agreement.
