Live Activities solve a simple driving problem: checking speed without unlocking your phone or jumping back into the app.
With eyeSpeed, speed stays visible on the Lock Screen and, on iPhone 14 Pro and later, in the Dynamic Island.
Why It Matters
eyeSpeed uses Apple’s Live Activities and ActivityKit to keep speed visible outside the main app. The result is less unlocking, less app switching, and faster glances while driving.
The Dynamic Island version is especially useful because it keeps a compact speed display available while other apps do their job.
Designed to Stay Practical
Speed continues updating while eyeSpeed is in the background, timeout controls help manage battery impact, and you can start or stop a Live Activity with Shortcuts or Siri.
Privacy-First Live Activities
GPS-based speed requires location access, but that does not mean location needs to become a business model.
eyeSpeed’s Live Activities keep the same privacy architecture as the main app: on-device processing, no tracking, and no route history sent anywhere. It is one of very few speedometer apps with a “Data Not Collected” App Store label.
Driving It Home
Live Activities make eyeSpeed more useful because they keep speed visible at a glance without the usual privacy trade.
